Titanium
Titanium – material of superlatives
Hard, harder, titanium. Extremely strong and corrosion-resistant, titanium is only about half the density of steel, making it ideal for applications that have to withstand enormous forces. At OTTO FUCHS, we currently use 16 titanium alloys to manufacture structural parts for the aerospace industry and rotating engine parts.
70 years of experienceTailor-made solutions for individual requirements
Together with our customers, we develop closed-die and open-die forgings that are perfectly tailored to their specific applications. Over seven decades, we have developed a process specifically tailored to titanium, including high-precision open-die and closed-die forging processes for a reproducible process flow and a special hot-die and "near net shape" forging technology.
Great power for great qualityHigh-performance production options
Our titanium forging production has 50 years of experience in working with this fascinating material. It produces hundreds of different titanium drop forgings with unit weights of up to 1,000 kg. Our largest closed-die forging press with a hydraulic pressing force of 54,000 tons produces forgings with a projected surface area of up to 15,000 cm2. The result: quality on a grand scale.
Service and support from a single source
From material selection to mechanical pre-machining, we offer a comprehensive service for the production of titanium forgings. On request, we deliver finished and surface-treated forgings directly to our customers.
